Individual & Couples Therapy

Let's Talk about Meaning

Hello! I’m Elizabeth Taylor, MS, MFT-C. I have a passion for helping individuals and couples cultivate a deeper connection to themselves, each other and their communities. I work from a systemic perspective, which focuses on the multiple layers of systems that impact us, not just the individual level. By examining the cycle from a systemic perspective I encourage my clients to lower defensiveness and inspire their vulnerability.

I’ve always been drawn to conversations about life, death and meaning in life. I enjoy helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of identity, trauma, and relationships. My clinical interests include identity exploration, PTSD, sex and intimacy, anxiety, ethical non-monogamy, military couples and OCD. I bring a compassionate, grounded presence to the therapeutic space—one where clients can safely explore the parts of themselves that often go unheard or unseen. I thrive when helping people deepen their insight and reconnect with their authenticity.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida State University and a Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado State University. I have completed Level 1 Training in the Gottman Method and the EFT Couples Therapy externship. I draw from both frameworks to help couples slow down, connect, and build emotional safety.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, and adaptive, rooted in the belief that every person has the capacity to connect more fully with themselves and others when they feel safe enough to step into their authenticity and vulnerability. As a therapist I endeavor to walk alongside my clients, providing them a mirror and compassionate curiosity while we journey together through life’s challenges and celebrations.

My approach is rooted in attachment theory, which I believe is central to how we relate to ourselves and others. I incorporate attachment-based modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) to support clients in developing emotional insight, resilience, and secure relationships. My approach is also culturally sensitive and trauma-informed. I’ve spent most of my life in a military family living in different countries and experiencing different cultures. This is something I find extremely interesting, as different cultures come with different societal norms and that can complicate relationships. I enjoy the process of helping to make the once unspoken, spoken. Together let’s unravel the knots of the past that keep you stuck and weave them back into a unified sense of self and fulfillment in your relationships.

While my work is primarily attachment-focused, I also draw on narrative therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, CBT and solution-focused strategies, depending on what best resonates with my client.

In addition to my clinical training, I bring years of experience in mindfulness practices as a trained yoga instructor. This foundation supports my work with presence, self-regulation, and body awareness—always with cultural sensitivity woven into the healing process. When I’m not seeing clients I enjoy practicing yoga and meditation, camping, snowboarding, hiking, fire dancing, singing and playing ukulele.

Individual & Couples Counseling

getting to the core

Therapy is both an investment financially and emotionally. My ideal clients are invested in the therapy process and are willing to dig deep and push their limits to discover a deeper sense of self and fulfillment in their relationships. They are dedicated to both their relationship with themselves and their significant other(s). They are receptive to identifying negative patterns and learning about how to change these maladaptive patterns to meet their goals. They value active listening, empathy and emotional security in their relationships and are actively working to understand themselves better to show up better for themselves and for their partner(s).
