About STephanie Brummond, MA, MFT-C
Individual & Couples Therapy
let's talk about connecting with your body
Hi! I’m Stephanie Brummond, MA, MFT-C. Therapy is sacred work, and I’m deeply honored to accompany you on your journey. I’m passionate about working with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, life transitions, religious deconstruction, and relationship challenges. At the heart of my work, I am drawn to helping clients build relationships that feel more secure, meaningful, and alive.
I draw inspiration from several therapeutic approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Experiential Therapy. As a systemic therapist, I believe we are all influenced by the systems we come from including our cultures, upbringing, environments, and relationships. Learning from our past and how we carry it influences how we approach the present. Together, we’ll explore how these influences have impacted you, cultivate insight and self-compassion and support you in making intentional, aligned choices in your life and relationships.
I received my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. I completed an Externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and have completed Gottman Certification Levels I and II.
Prior to Therapy, I worked in the Outdoor Industry and as a yoga instructor. In these spaces, I found myself drawn to the relational and human-centered aspects, which ultimately led me to pursue Therapy. My background in yoga continues to inform my therapeutic work, and I enjoy incorporating somatic practices into sessions and inviting clients to drop into their felt experience and reconnect with the wisdom of their bodies.
When I’m not seeing clients, I enjoy rock climbing, trail running, biking around Denver, or practicing yoga.
Individual & Couples Counseling
My ideal client
My ideal client is one that wants to go deeper than talk therapy and cognitive processing. I believe emotions are not an “interruption” to our work, but rather, an integral part of the process. I invite you to connect with your body, nervous system, and emotional experience. I believe that insight and awareness doesn’t equal change, and we’ll work with the nervous system in session to create new and different experiences
My Specialties
1
Religious Deconstruction + Purity Culture
Religious deconstruction can be a tender process. Deconstruction can help you make sense of your upbringing and the ways it still lives in your body, relationships, and sense of self. Together, we’ll explore what has shaped you, what still feels meaningful, and what no longer aligns.
I specialize in supporting young women healing from religious trauma and purity culture. I believe everyone deserves to feel at home in their body and free to explore their sensuality without shame.
2
Relationships
Maybe you’re at a point in your relationships where you feel a bit distant, stuck in familiar patterns of communication, and unsure how to reach for one another. Or perhaps you’re navigating a transition of deepening commitment, redefining your relationship, or deciding what comes next.
As an Emotionally Focused Therapist, I help you identify your underlying needs and the parts of you that long to be seen, heard, and responded to. Together, we will work towards a connection that feels secure, alive, and mutually nourishing.
3
Life Transitions
Life transitions often put us in a liminal space of what was and what is yet to come. Leaning into the discomfort of the unknown may feel daunting or overwhelming, whether it is a welcome change, or unexpected and painful.
From navigating a break up, shifting careers, newly moving to Denver, experiencing changes in family and relationship dynamics, I am here to support you. We will sit with the discomfort, honor what’s ending, and gently make room for your growth along this journey.
