About Megan Lewis, MA, LMFT
Couples & Individual Therapy
Let's Talk about Trauma
Hi! My name is Megan Lewis, LMFT. As a licensed couples therapist specializing in trauma, my role is to provide a supportive and empathetic environment where partners can explore and heal from past experiences that may be affecting their relationship. I hold a deep understanding of how trauma can impact both individuals and their dynamics as a couple, and I work collaboratively to help them navigate these complexities.

My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, incorporating techniques from trauma-informed care, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
I completed my undergraduate at the University of Florida and completed my masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
In feedback I have gotten from clients, they tell me that I am easy to talk to, with a conversational style, that helps people feel comfortable in the vulnerable work of therapy, particularly for people healing from trauma.
In my free time, I enjoy anything water related and live much of the year near the ocean, living most of the year in the US Virgin islands, ejoying a small community with beautiful nature and wildlife around. I enjoy returning to Colorado a few times a year, particularly in the fall, my favorite season, to enjoy the fall colors and reconnect with clients in person, for those who are interested in meeting in person. I offer no cost 15 minute telpehone consultation calls to help people assess fit for working together. I welcome you to reach out with further questions or to schedule a consultation to help you determine if you want to move forward in working together.

Couples & Individual Therapy
Building Understanding & Compassion
I strive to create a safe space where both partners feel heard and validated, allowing them to express their emotions and vulnerabilities without judgment. By facilitating open communication and understanding, I guide couples in building resilience, fostering connection, and developing healthier patterns of interaction. Whether the trauma is recent or stems from earlier life experiences, my goal is to help couples find pathways to healing, growth, and a renewed sense of partnership. I am committed to supporting each couple’s unique journey, empowering them to move forward with greater intimacy, trust, and connection.
My Specialties
1
Relationship therapy
Working together, we will explore disconnection and attachment injuries that have occurred in your romantic relationship that have lead to a sense of feeling “stuck” in moving on and work on healing and gaining clarity on your relationship needs in order to move forward.
2
Trauma Therapy
Trauma can come from an isolated incident or occur in cumulative ways over time. Through talk therapy and EMDR, we can work together to find healing and a future lived without the looming shadow that unhealed trauma can have on ones life.
3
Eating Disorder Recovery
Learning to shift ones relationship with food and body can be a daunting task on ones own. Together, we can work on shifting away from a relationship with food that might feel all consuming toward a relationship with food that has more flexibility and allows for a life lived with more internal freedom and body acceptance.
